Custodian Document

Resolution

Whereas, Section 610.023.1, RSMo, provides that a public governmental body is to appoint a custodian who is to be responsible for the maintenance of that body's records and the identity and location of the custodian is to be made available upon request, and

Whereas, Section 610.026, RSMo, provides that a public governmental body may prescribe reasonable fees for providing access to or furnishing copies of public records, however, the fees shall not exceed the actual cost of document search and duplications; and

Whereas, Section 610.028.2, RSMo, provides that a public governmental body shall provide a reasonable written policy in compliance with 610.010 to 610.030, RSMo, commonly referred to as the Sunshine Law, regarding the release of information on any meeting, record or vote; and

Whereas, Section 610.029, RSMo, encourages a public governmental body to make information available in useable electronic formats to the greatest extent feasible

Now, therefore, be it resolved:

That the Saline County Extension Office be and hereby is appointed custodian of the records of the Saline County Study Steering Committee and that such custodian is located at Room 100 in the Saline County Courthouse, Marshall, Missouri.

That said custodian shall respond to all requests for access to or copies of a public record within the time period provided by statute except in those circumstances authorized by statute.

That the fees to be charged for access to or furnishing copies of records shall be as hereinafter provided, which fees have been determined not to exceed the actual cost of document search and duplication.(25 cents per page)

That it is the public policy of the Saline County Study Steering Committee that meetings, records, votes, actions and deliberations of this body shall be open to the public unless otherwise provided by law.

That a concerted effort will be made to make all public records of the Saline County Study Steering Committee available at the Saline County Study Web site: http://www.cares.missouri.edu/salinecounty

That the Saline County Study Steering Committee shall comply with sections 610.010 to 610.030, RSMo, the Sunshine Law, as now existing or hereinafter amended.
