Notice of open meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Saline County Study Group will conduct a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 1999 at the Marshall Habilitation Center board room.

NOTE
This meeting will be devoted primarily to planning for a land use Public Issues Forum specifically designed for Saline County.

  1. Call to Order, Opening comments - Mark Belwood
  2. Brief background regarding earlier experience with the PIF (Governing America) and decision to proceed with the PIF process to organize issue forums around the questions of land use in Saline County - Mark Belwood
  3. Purpose of this meeting is to begin the process of developing and organizing an issue booklet for the issue forums in Saline County. At the end of the session we need to have a decision and commitment from several folks to assist with the formulation of the materials we will use. We have two national issue forum booklets that we can use as a point of departure, plus access to other approaches in other states.
  4. Overview and review of the booklets, Land Use Conflicts: When City and Country Clash and of A Nice Place to Live: Creating Communities, Fighting Sprawl - Ron Powers
  5. Discussion of the "Issue Framing Process" - Ron Powers
